On Saturday, 28 August 2010 our team, consisting of players from Idar-Oberstein attended and competed in a Basketball Tournament celebrating the Partnership of two cities, Simmertal and Oudon France.  The event was held at the Heinzenwies Schule in Idar-Oberstein.    We the members and players of the Sports Club TV 1848 Oberstein would like to sincerely thank my friend Ernst Öelling, the Director of this event for his invitation and the schools warm hospítality.  Both our young boys and young mens team enjoyed the event tremendously.   It was a very friendly, but also some what competitive game against, not only the two French teams, but also the two American teams from Baumholder.  We all look forward to the next tournament hopefully next year.  Thanks again to all who made this event such an enjoyable day and a great success.   To all the teams from France and Baumholder, we hope you and your family and friends enjoy the pictures of the game.  Until next time keep on Bballen.

What a great showing of talented players and teams we have in this great Rheinland Pfalz youth nation!  Check out the team pictures and other event pictures from the 3 point event etc.  More pictures and short videos to follow.  U-tube already has some videos showing-up from the tournament. 

A big thanks goes out to everyone at the Jugendamt,  especially Sabine Moser and Armin Vogt for organizing the event and letting us give our input and ideas to make it the best ever.  Another big thank you goes to all our helpers from the TV Obestein basketball players, family, friends and relatives who helped getting the word out, bringing in teams, advertising out - WKW, with setting-up, taking down, serving food and drinks and just everything. 

And last but not least a big Streetball Thanks to our DJ for the BBall music and our own Kevin D.E.E.P. for the great moderating!  We could not have had such a successful tournament without everyone's great team effort.  Thanks a ton and we'll see you all again next year!
